Issues of substance in these exchanges were unfortunately side-lined by petty power politics and a gene rally dismissive attitude towards deviations from wh at passes for respectable academic concerns. More recent exchanges over issues of Africanization in tertiary institutions, and a series of meetings and discussions over issues of race, power and knowledge, indicate more substantive engagement with such concerns, the fruits of wh ich will hopefully emerge soon.
