Over the next few days the encirclement of Southwestern Front tightened and simultaneously German forces pushed the frontline farther to the east; in the north a panzer corps from II Pz Group moved east from the Belopolie area; farther south 10 Mot Div and 4 Pz Div from XXIV Pz Corps advanced eastwards towards Sumy; and 14 Pz Div and 16 Pz Div from I Pz Group advanced east from Mirgorod.
